Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Detox AI Android application and the detoxing.ai website (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Detox AI is

Detox AI is accountability and parental-control software designed for devices the operator is authorized to manage — your own device for self-control, or a minor's device as their legal guardian. It provides layered content filtering, recovery tools, and optional accountability features.

Detox AI is friction + accountability, not a cage. We are honest that determined users can bypass any non-root Android protection (VPN toggle, Safe Mode, factory reset, second device, etc.). The app makes bypass attempts noisy and deliberate, not impossible.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Detox AI for self-control on your own device.
• Guardians may install and configure Detox AI on a minor's device with appropriate authority.
• You may not use Detox AI to monitor another adult's device without their knowledge and consent.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Use Detox AI as spyware or to surveil others without authorization
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except as permitted by law
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its security features
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws

4. Permissions and your consent

Detox AI requires sensitive Android permissions (VPN, Accessibility, screen capture, Device Admin) to function. By enabling these permissions, you consent to their use as described in our Privacy Policy. You may revoke permissions at any time through Android settings, which will disable corresponding features.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Detox AI offers a free tier and a Premium subscription ("Detox Premium") managed through Google Play Billing.

• Prices are displayed in the app and may vary by region (e.g., ₹99/month or $7.99/month).
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play Store → Subscriptions.
• Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policies.
• We may offer promotional trials (e.g., 21-day Premium gift on first run). Trial terms are shown in-app.

6. No guarantee of complete blocking

While Detox AI uses multiple layers of defense, we do not guarantee that all adult content will be blocked in all circumstances. New domains, encrypted traffic techniques, local files, and user bypass methods may evade filtering. The Service is provided as a support tool, not an absolute barrier.

7. Not medical advice

Detox AI provides educational content and self-reflection tools related to behavioral recovery. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical concerns. Onboarding scores are self-reflection aids, not clinical assessments.

8. Accountability partner feature

If you enable accountability partner alerts, you are responsible for obtaining your partner's consent to receive notifications. We are not responsible for the content of alerts or your partner's response to them.

9. Intellectual property

The Detox AI name, logo, app, website, and content are owned by us or our licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY EFFECTIVE AT BLOCKING CONTENT.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50 USD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising from your misuse of the Service, violation of these Terms, or unauthorized monitoring of another person's device.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. Provisions that by nature should survive termination (disclaimers, liability limits) will survive.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in India, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.
